ACTIVE project training trips completed!

Share:

In April and May, project partners devoted their entire work to building and organizing two training trips promoted by the project.

The first trip was held on April 29 and 30 and May 1, in Amsterdam hosted by project partner FAREnetwork at the Friendship Sports Centre which saw about forty coaches and activists in sports and social work come together.

The second trip was held on May 20 21 22 in Athens hosted by project partner KMOP in a particular area of Athens, close to a public park equipped with numerous sports fields in the Pireás area, involving about thirty sports athletes.

The trainings had mixed modes. Through theoretical lectures, group workshops and sports activities promoted European Policies and Youth Goals, paying attention specifically to 3: Connecting Europe with young people, Creating Inclusive Societies and Green and Sustainable Europe.

Interactive educational sessions were promoted using online platforms, sitting volleyball tournaments, inequality relays, debates, walking soccer tournaments and more were created!

We report feedback from participants in the two trainings.

From Amsterdam:

I really liked discussing and hearing different opinions about ideas individuals had when we talked about how to deal with specific scenarios/situations and when we were able to share/compare personal experiences and advice. One thing that I think would have been more effective is creating or planning specific actions we could take to our clubs/home countries/projects to work together on rather than come up with theoretical plans or ideas. (M.D)

I enjoyed the team spirit and the exchange of ideas and perspectives within the working groups. (M.R )

From Athens:

The thing that I liked the most is the relationship that has been created with the other guys.  This is integration for me because, not knowing anyone or any language, a bond was also formed. (M.C)

Most of all I liked the team sports competitions and the fact that we set our own rules, which I found a very innovative idea. (A.K)

Youth and coaches who have participated in international mobilities will have the opportunity to experience what they have learned by promoting activities and events in their own context, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable sport!
