BE ACTIVE!Our European campaign is coming to an end. During the pas two weeks we highlighted how sports can have a great impact on peopleโ€™s life and in the wider society. We strongly believe that sports is the best way of bringing people together around shared values and passion. The Active Project recommend European, national and local policy makers to fund and promote sports organisations and events to generate engagement among young Europeans who will be designing the future of EU Youth Policies. Sports can be a decisive factor for youth to be active, especially among less active youth and youth at risk of marginalisation and discrimination. Promoting inclusive and sustainable grassroots activities would help making all European Youth involved and engaged in the European community. #ActiveinSport #youth #active #sport #inclusion #europe #europeancampaign @geacooperativasociale @farenet @assistitaly @kmop_ngo @jugend_und_kulturprojekt @coopdots #ENSportEducation #EYY2022 ... This campaign has shown us that there are multiple ways of using sports as a vector for inclusion, integration and engagement.Giving the importance it can have and its infinite power, we would recommend the EU, but also local and regional policymakers to promote sports in every way they can. Sports can definitely help the EU and EU citizen to reach the European Youth Goals and share common values. Before we close this week of campaign, we wanted to suggest policmakers a few other requests they could follow to promote sports for all:๐Ÿค” Invite your local clubs to organize inclusive events and share ideas-๐ŸŸ๏ธ If rebuilding facilities, think about being inclusive in the facilities for disabled people, for people of all genders, etc. If you plan to build new sports facilities, try to make them environmentally friendly.๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Promote Scholarships offered by the municipality or sports bodies for coaches๐Ÿค Organise of educational exchanges for athletes and coaches. โœ’๏ธ Institutions (municipality and state) must commit themselves to promoting sports activities in schools and educational places#ACTIVEinsport #youth #active #sport #inclusion #europe #europeancampaign@geacooperativasociale @farenet @assistitaly @kmop_ngo @jugend_und_kulturprojekt @coopdots #ensporteducation #EYY2022 ... These events generated interest for the EU from our participants, and they wanted to address the EU a few comments, advice, and requests. 1. Cooperation between EU and regional and local authorities should be improved, especially in sport where there could be more synergies.2. Strengthen the involvement of young people.3. Overcoming classism, bringing everyone along.5. Create meeting places 6. Promote explicitly anti-fascist sports communities.7. More suitable meeting places8. EU should support mechanisms to make the EU younger and youth friendly. The EU should support projects in a new way, new media channels and new language.9. There should be more information on many channels about the EU and how it supports sports clubs. There should be better cooperation with local and regional organisations, sport is local.#ACTIVEinsport #youth #active #sport #inclusion #europe #europeancampaign@geacooperativasociale @farenet @assistitaly @kmop_ngo @jugend_und_kulturprojekt @coopdots #ensporteducation #EYY2022 ... These interviews conducted by participants were also a good occasion to analyse what possibilities can exist to make youth more engaged and involved with the EU, but also to find out how sports could have a role on it. Like Torsten Schulze says in this interview, the European Youth Goals themselves are a great way of promoting the European idea and its values. The EU provides good advices on how to shift towards a fairer and greener Europe, and we could implement those to our sports events. Here is a practical advise that you could apply when you are organising an event: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Choose one of the 11 European Youth Goals (or 2, 3โ€ฆ) (๐ŸŒฟ i.e Sustainable Green Europe)๐Ÿค” Think about how your event can promote this EUYG (๐ŸŒฟ i.e put the EU Youth Goal on your publicity, make a statement about it)๐Ÿ“‹Provide specific guidelines that will go towards this goal (๐ŸŒฟ i.e using reusable dishes, providing a public transport map)๐ŸคInvite local/regional policymakers and put emphasis on the celebration of the EUYG ๐Ÿ™Œ Announce the EUYG and its importance during the event.#ACTIVEinsport #youth #active #sport #inclusion #europe #europeancampaign@geacooperativasociale @farenet @assistitaly @kmop_ngo @jugend_und_kulturprojekt @coopdots #ensporteducation #EYY2022 ... Our participants from Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. interviewed local policymakers in Germany during their last event. By inviting them to participate, they were able to show the power of sport, its undeniable capacity to bring people together and overcome barriers.โœŠ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Watch Albrecht Pallas giving its impression on the social importance sports can have: "Participating in sports makes easy for people who have just arrived here newly, or are not fully integrated, to get to know new people, and at the same time develop a sense of respect for each other, for the performance of the other and to accept the way they are" ๐Ÿ‘#ActiveinSport #youth #active #sport #inclusion #europe #europeancampaign@geacooperativasociale @farenet @assistitaly @kmop_ngo @jugend_und_kulturprojekt @coopdots #ENSportEducation #EYY2022 ...
